Whole Grain Breadmaking and Soft Pretzel Making Classes
Grainbakers Course Catalog & Calendar
Grainbakers offers spent grain bread-making classes at your favorite brewery. Our classes are for everyone, from the bread-making enthusiast to the rookie baker, and are loved by beer geeks and home brewers. At the end of the brewer’s day, we will use fresh, spent grain and work it into a stunning boule of bread. Our classes are fun as a solo outing, a girls' night out, a first date, a staff team builder, and a great introduction to a brewery you've never visited before.
I'm a reader. I need all the details.

Grainbakers offers one-of-a-kind spent-grain breadmaking classes and pop-up seasonal events like soft pretzel-making workshops. Spent grain is healthy whole grain recycled from the brewing process. Our 90-minute workshops are hosted at some of the country’s best breweries, and they often sell out fast because they’re the perfect blend of fun, relaxation, and “Wow, I made that with my own hands.”
Whether you’re new to breadmaking or a seasoned sourdough pro craving a fresh twist, you are welcome here. We especially love showing homebrewers how to transform that beautiful spent grain into something extraordinary.
This is a fun night out that’s also an affordable night out. Most cooking classes are very expensive, and many paint and sip or craft classes burn through lots of supplies, create a bunch of trash, and still come with a hefty price tag. Grainbakers keeps it simple and satisfying: a warm brewery setting, a hands-on experience, and something genuinely useful and delicious to take home.
And there’s a bigger mission behind the flour. Grainbakers is on a mission to activate and support small American breweries by bringing in essential customers on slower nights, helping breweries generate business, build community, and grow. So you’re not just making bread, you’re showing up for a local spot you want to keep alive.
At the end of the brewer’s day, we roll up our sleeves and bake a stunning whole-grain boule that’s earthy, nourishing, and wildly satisfying. Our classes are perfect for couples looking for a date night, a girls' night out, or a fun thing to do with grown kids when they’re back in town for a visit. Our classes are absolutely great for solo adventurers or anyone who wants a great excuse to explore a new brewery and leave with something delicious made by their own hands.
